HumanFlow is a writing aid. It helps your own drafts read the way you would write them, and it tells you what a detector makes of a passage. This page sets out where that stops.
What it is for
- Rewriting your own drafts so they read naturally.
- Editing AI-assisted first drafts into your own voice.
- Checking how machine-like a piece of writing reads, and why.
- Writing in a second language and wanting it to sound less stilted.
What it is not for
- Passing off work as your own where you have been told not to. If your school, university or employer restricts AI assistance, follow their rule. We do not sell a way around it — see our editorial policy on why we refuse to claim one.
- Impersonating a real person or organisation.
- Producing disinformation, harassment, or content that targets a private individual.
- Anything unlawful where you are, or in breach of someone else's rights.
- Content that sexualises minors, or that incites violence.
- Automated abuse — scraping, sharing an account, circumventing limits, or reselling access without a written agreement.
Academic use, stated plainly
Plenty of institutions permit AI assistance with disclosure, and plenty do not. That is their call, not ours. We do not promise to defeat any detector, because no honest product can — detectors change without notice and flag human writing too. Using this tool does not make submitted work compliant with a rule that forbids it.
Enforcement
If we see a breach we may limit, suspend or close the account. Serious cases — anything involving harm to a person — we act on immediately and report where the law requires. Where a breach looks like a misunderstanding, we will tell you before we act.
