Lacewing Technologies is an Indian company, registered in Maharashtra. That makes us a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, whoever you are and wherever you use HumanFlow from. This page is the notice that Act requires, and it names the person you can complain to.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect in full, and our GDPR notice for people in Europe. Where this page and those overlap, they say the same thing — deliberately.
What we process, and why
- Your email address and name — to create your account, sign you in, and send you service email such as a password reset.
- The text you submit — to produce the rewrite or the detection score you asked for. Processing it is the service.
- Your IP address — to count free usage and stop abuse, held for 48 hours and no longer.
We process each of these because you asked us to provide the service, or because we need to keep it working and secure. Anything optional — analytics, marketing email — happens only if you say yes, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Your rights as a Data Principal
- Access — a summary of the personal data we hold about you and what we do with it.
- Correction and erasure — fix anything wrong, or have your account and its data deleted.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us first, using the contact below.
- Nomination — nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated. Email us and we will record it.
- Withdraw consent — as easily as you gave it, for anything we do on the basis of consent.
You also have a duty under the Act not to make a false or frivolous complaint, and not to impersonate someone else when exercising these rights. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that nobody can use these rights to reach your data.
Children
The DPDP Act treats everyone under 18 as a child. That is stricter than the rule in most other countries, and because it is the law where we are, it is the rule we apply everywhere.
- You must be at least 18 to hold a HumanFlow account, or have your parent or guardian's permission.
- We do not knowingly process a child's personal data without verifiable parental consent.
- We do not track children, profile them, or direct advertising at them. We show no advertising to anyone, on any plan.
If you believe a child has created an account without permission, email the officer below and we will close it and delete the data.

We acknowledge a grievance within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days. Write from the email address on your account where you can — it is the fastest way for us to confirm the request is really yours.
If we do not resolve it
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The Act asks you to raise it with us first, so please give us the chance.
Transfers outside India
The companies that process data for us operate in the United States. Our subprocessor page lists every one of them, what each receives, and where it is. The DPDP Act permits these transfers except to countries the Central Government restricts; we will update this page if that list changes in a way that affects us.
Security and breaches
We apply reasonable security safeguards — encrypted connections, restricted access to systems, and a managed database. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the Act requires. Our security page states plainly what we do and do not hold in the way of certifications.
Selling to consumers in India
When paid plans go live, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 also apply to us. You will find our legal name, registered address and contact details on this page and on contact; the price, currency and any tax at pricing before you pay; and cancellation and refund terms in our refund policy. Nothing can be purchased on HumanFlow today.
